Chihuly
Macchias, one of Chihuly’s most popular forms, are wavy glass bowls. The name means: “to encapsulate the concept of the spontaneous outpouring of artistic sensibility.” Inspired by these pieces, we first created three-dimensional sculptures using coffee filters, markers, and spray starch. Then we tried two-dimensional versions, focusing on mixing gradations of color and channeling Chihuly’s creativity in our backgrounds.
