Coloring Book Pages
In the Fall of 2016, the Seventh and Eighth Grade art classes at Immaculate Conception School studied contemporary artist, Sue
Coccia, known for her Animal Spirit artwork. Her intricate pen and ink drawings are inspired by animal images from around the world, raising awareness for the animal’s need for protection from loss of habitat. She sells her ink drawings grouped together into coloring books. Knowing how popular adult coloring books are right now, we decided to create and sell collaborative coloring books from each class to raise money for Talitha Kum, the girls orphanage in Colombia with which we have an interactive relationship. Inspired by Sue Coccia, each class voted on a theme and created their drawings. From our sale, we raised $400 which will be used to help purchase art supplies for the girls at the orphanage.
