Starry Night in Bethlehem
Vincent Van Gogh’s Starry Night painting is beloved by many. We are lucky to be able to view the original in the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. First and Second Graders learned about Van Gogh’s life and art through videos and books. We talked about how he created movement in his paintings through his brushstrokes and got a feel for this by making short strokes with oil pastels. In a twist, we used Van Gogh’s starry night as a setting for the Nativity.
