Clay Week
This year, I tried a new approach to using clay: for one week EVERY class in the school took a break from their regular assignments and created a project out of clay. Many parents volunteered to come help out with this wonderful but intensive medium. Below is a sampling of what we created: Native American pendants by Transitional-Kindergartners and Kindergartners, Butterflies by First and Second Graders, Cupcakes by Third and Fourth Graders, Medieval Gargoyles by Fifth Graders, modern Egyptian Canopic Jars by Sixth Graders, and Wind Chimes by Seventh and Eighth Graders.
