Famous Artwork Sculptures
Seventh Graders chose a reproduction of a famous piece of art to re-interpret on these organic, three-dimensional sculptures. First, we created the sculptures by bending a coat hanger, covering with a pantyhose, painting with primer, and then securing in a plaster block for a base. Next, the students had the freedom to choose what aspect of their artwork they wanted to focus on: image, color, design, etc., and then painting with acrylics. After the show, they shared their work with their classmates in an oral report.
